The director of the latest apocalyptic fantasy Roland Emmerich and its co-writer Harald Kloser successfully packs the eye-popping effects of this epic doomsday film 2012. The film’s plot was based on the Mayan Calendar and other end-of –days prophecies. A holocaust of natural disasters such as typhoons, earthquake, volcanic eruptions and glaciers plaguing the earth that portrays the world coming to an end. The doomsday scenario was brought by an obscure planet X –NIBIRU that heads and collides with Earth, some kind of solar melt down that cause series of calamities. And this mysterious planet X was discovered by the Sumerians according to a pseudo-scientist, paranormal activity. But the focus of the issue was not just about the disasters but also on how people or humanity will respond to the crisis. They decided to choose people who are worth saving that will allowed to board like the ancient equivalent of Noah’s Ark. The presidential adviser was asked the task of handpicking of people but the big profound question is who are the lucky worth saving people? But the large suit of the movie was not just relying on the profundity.
Technically, the hilarious scenes of Cusack was a beat-off as he drives the limousine through the streets of Los Angeles where the freeways and the skyscrapers crumble all around him from the shock of 10.5 earthquake, which found by the viewers a very fascinating and thrilling. The climax of the flick occurs when a malfunction of an equipment of the giant ark almost threaten and failed the entire mission of aboarding. But the movie 2012 was not edited with requisite clarity and leaves us befuddled as to what is happening to whom. However Roland Emmerich deserves a credit for its amazing cinematography, production designs and visual effects. And is truly an awards-worthy film. “American Idol” runner-up Adam Lambert was the one who provides the propelling and rousing music, which perfectly jives the flick.
However aside from the much talk-about film, a widespread of rumors seep through internet that the movie might come true and that the world will end on December 12, 2012 – a preposterous threat. NASA was accused and asked for an explanation for concealing the truth about the existence of the planet Nibiru by some websites. But the United States Space Agency denounces those stories and remarks it as an “Internet Hoax”. “There are no factual bases on these claims. And if such a collision were real “astronomers would have been tracking it for at least the past decade, and it would be visible by now to the naked eye,” it added. “Obviously, it does not exist.” they defended. “Credible scientists worldwide know of no threat associated with 2012, and our planet has been getting along just fine for more than four billion years,” insisted by NASA. “2012” is a great blockbuster movie depicting how world will come to an end but it’s not something that would really happen neither in its said date nor in the future. But if that does or occurring make a move right away on how you can be someone worth saving.
